SANTA DIDN'T LIKE BRFSD's WREATH

Could you post this on the neighborhood blog?   Apparently someone has stolen the Christmas wreath from the front entrance sign.  If someone should see it lying thrown in the woods, perhaps they could retrieve it and put it back up.

All residents someone stole or really disliked the Christmas Wreath placed at the FRONT ENTRANCE.
If anyone should have any information about this or happen to see the wreath tossed somewhere PLEASE let one of the trustee's knows. We would like to have it back and / or replaced.  I have placed a complaint with ACPD and they will be watching the area. Seems several missing items have been reported in the local area, Guess we need to keep our eyes open...................Happy Holidays

Update on Nancy Kerr

Nancy's service will be held on Wed at 6:30.  At Whitten  in Madison Hgts

Just info

Just in case anyone from the subdivision knew Nancy Kerr, She worked at Country Corner Market in the Deli and at Campbell's Market for years,  She pasted away lat night. Don't have a lot of details except it happened in her sleep, cause unknown.  Seems every one one this side of 29 knew her so I thought I would pass on the info in  case anyone wanted to know.  I'll try to pass on any info as i get it .  she was in her fifties and just working with her for only a few months found  her to be one of the sweetest people i have ever meet.  Really sorry at her passing .

New comment s were posted on the NW page. Thanks and a reply was posted. I Hope more residents will make use of this tool. PLEASE let me know what you think as residents and Thanks for helping Barbara. As usual you are one of the first to always help and get involved to help make the community a better place to come home to ! Can't tell you how good that makes me feel about the community and the residents that truly want to be a positive influence here. I wish more would take the extra five mins and do the same. THANK YOU you get a gold star for participation.

Neighborhood Watch

I am sure that many of the residents have noticed the SIGNS.

However we have already encounterd a few problems .

Tony put in a post at the lake which was to be used to post the new liability signs

and someone has already pulled it up and it has disappeared.

Also the NW Sign at the bottom of the hill was bent where someone was tring to

get it off the post. The sign was saved and Tony replaced it with stronger bolts

and we have discussed redigging and placing all the post in cement.

So PLEASE all residents be on the look out for the individuals who might be doing this

lets us know.

Also I have again changed the format of the blog so as to keep everyone up dated to

any issues involving the Neighborhood watch.

That change is going to be included on the residents page , which is NOW the

Resident Page / Neighborhoor Watch

This will help inform everyone if there is unusual activity in the area and

If any resident has items missing or susspects any activity please call or e-mail

so I can post IT.

Tony had put this post into the ground 3 feet and this is what we have now left. WE NEED EYES AND EARS OPEN SO THIS BEHAVIOUR STOPS.........

I do apoligize to all. I have not had much information to pass on latley. A few items but most anything note worthy needs to be handeled by trustee's and decissions made before, so I guess that when I am informed of meeting time and place I will pass that info on.

I just didn't want any of you to think that I personally had forgot and or stop working on the blog or emails. Just haven't received any info that I feel I am allowed to post with out approval from BoT.

I actually am begining to wonder if all the residents in the community have been abducted by alliens, But of course I have seen a few of you...............You know CCM

I am sure that a few residents are wondering about things and the going ons around BRFSD ? guess we will all find out at the same time.

MINORS BRANCH ROAD.

One of the houses just before Maple Creek

took vehicle radio, lawn equipment and mowers.

also broke into another house futher down the road.

Maybe WE need to KEEP our eyes and ears open for any activity here in our area.

The WSET Basket

Good Morning All

It's the morning after and I have to say that I am relieved.

We met with Mr. James and I believe that the Postal problem's are taken care of.

We were also introduced to the new Post Master of the Monroe PO and he is a very pleasent guy.

He assures us that any problems that arrise he will work with us to resolve them.

Also on a great note the resident turnout was even better than I expected.

It is truly wonderful to see the community becoming and believing in being involved.

Even met some new face's on this one, I only wish I had more time to talk with you and get to know you a bit better, so hopefully in the future that time will become more available.

Also like to THANK all of you that donated items for the basket. The giving was also much better than expected and now we have to get a bigger basket.

The intention was to deliver it this morning but Charlie is bringing the bigger basket this afternoon and we will get it delivered in the morning.

THANK YOU ALL

The items were personal and heart warming and truely represented our community.

Fresh eggs, wine, wine markers and other items, Homemade wine, bread, cake, jam, relish(Ithink), free smoothies, arts and crafts note holder(giraffe), and several other items.

I will post the minute's in a couple of days as I get them.

Well it seem's that the sale was a good one this year. I would like to THANK everyone that helped with storage, baking, growing, pricing, transporting, and working the sale. You deserve a great big pat on the back for all of the hard work you put in. The turnout of so many residents was a welcome sight and boost to morale for all involved.

SUB -DIVISION YARD SALE

Yard sale on May 15, 2010.

Ok residents we're getting down to CRUNCH time. Volunteers get with Charlie and Lets have some FUN.
A BIG THANK YOU TO CharlieTysver,Laura Ottinger,Kelly Mays, Barbara Byers, and Linda Sexton for the several hours put in on PRICING items for the YS. GREAT JOB Ladies
Please don't quote me on this but I believe all transporters are trying to have all items loaded on Friday Evening, and at THE STORE by 7:00 am Saturday Morning. All BAKED Items delivered on Sat Morn.

Also like to thank the owner of The Store, for letting the Sub-Division use the lot for our SALE...

Wish I could be there, but Amherst has Prom that evening so I'll be banging out hair during the day, and also the Pow Wow has me working evening job.

Post Office

Well folks a lot of frustration and some good old fashion anger can sometimes help push you in a right direction. After recieving the lovely letter from our Post Office and trying for 3 days to get the situation corrected. After listening to you need to and I can't give you that number and name, or this person will call and still doesn't. I called WSET and I and the whole of our community need to send Jeremy Mills a Great thank you. He accomplished in 1 hour more than all of us together couldn't do in days. The Post Office recinded the decission to make us move the mail boxes. They called at 4:03 to returned the mass calls and to attempt to correct the very wrong thing they were trying to get away with. Kelly will be recieving an appology shortly and all residents will be contacted by mail with in the week. A visit by the Central Va director will happen on Tues to look at the roads and work with us on an agreeable outcome. and will Be coming to the June 1 meeting at 7:00 you will all recieve notices but please check the front message board. I for one will just hold my breath untill I get final results in permenant fashion. attached below is the link to the very short but very effective spot on WSET 6 News

Just a few pictures of the DEC and JAN Snow. THANKS to Charlie Tysver and Art Ross. Roads as you all know were a mess and the lake froze over (a first in along time that I know of).

Some residents may or may not know that the dam was also in jepordy due to the weather this winter and we almost lost it. Thankfully it has held and we still have this wonderful lake to enjoy.

New Community Board

We now have a New Community board. This I understand will be used to pass on information to the residents, such as upcoming meetings and information that the residents may find of some use.

Snowmageddon and the roads

We all know that Ole Man Winter laid it on us this season, and our roads turned into a perfect place for a monster truck rally. Shame that none of the resident's own such a vehicle. Maybe we could have had a bit of FUN and made a few dollars for the repairs. As of this date some repair work has been done and the roads are passable, BUT PLEASE be CAREFUL and drive as slow as possible as not to cause damage to your vehicle's.

"THANKS" to Kevin and all the residents that HELPED with the repairs! Also THANK YOU to the Riders for the use of their Tractor. I am sure that the Road Committee is looking into ways to help with repair efforts.

Entrance Sign and Garden

Thanks to the efforts of the Beautification Committee. Last year they collected and held a yardsale raising enough money to make our new sign and plant a garden at the entrance. Great Job
